Overview
Centennial is a fairly new variety released in 1990. A hybrid and dual purpose hop developed by Charles Zimmermann at the Washington State University station at Prosser. A cross between Brewer's Gold and a selected USDA male, it is a mid-season maturing vigorous hop. In early test plots, Centennial had an average alpha of 11.5%, but in production averages around 10%. Grows great I'm all climates. Susceptible to downy mildew. This is a high alpha cascade with a pronounced and unique flavor.
